Juntos Avanzamos, Together We Advance, is a designation for credit unions committed to serving and empowering Hispanic and immigrant consumers – helping them navigate the U.S. financial system and providing safe, affordable and relevant financial services. Juntos Avanzamos credit unions employ bilingual, culturally-competent staff and leadership and treat all of their members with respect, regardless of immigration status. The Juntos Avanzamos network continues to grow and includes over 100 credit unions in 26 states, Puerto Rico and District of Columbia.

As a member of the “Together We Advance” family of credit unions, MPS Credit Union has demonstrated that we:

  • Have a formal strategic plan for improving service to Hispanic immigrants
  • Offer bilingual services and information
  • Collaborate with organizations that support the Hispanic community
  • Provide affordable products and services that meet the needs of Hispanics
  • Offer financial education tailored to the Hispanic and immigrant community

Proud Moments

On Thursday, November 14, 2019, MPS Credit Union celebrated being awarded the prestigious national Juntos Avanzamos designation by Inclusiv. In recognition of the honor, community members, business partners, MPS Credit Union employees, Inclusiv executives, and local dignitaries gathered at the Credit Union for a proclamation ceremony.

Jace B. Reyes, (President & CEO, MPS Credit Union) said, “Our commitment as a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) and Low-Income designated credit union is to serve the underserved in our communities. The diversity of our community is one of our greatest assets and the Juntos Avanzamos designation signifies our commitment to meeting the needs of everyone in our community.

In September 2015, we were granted a low-income designation by the National Credit Union Administration. The designation comes with regulatory benefits to help us better serve those most in need of banking services— those with fewer check cashing, savings or loan resources, or are in need of greater financial education.
